Jeffrey S. Barnes, CM&AA, CVBA, Managing Director
Skilled leader and business transition advisor with advisory / consulting experience and sell-side business merger and acquisition expertise. Committed to strategically assist business owners to enhance company value, understand exit options and financial implications, and to get paid the premium for their business and life's work.
Mr. Barnes has over 30 years of leadership, executive management, P&L, and diverse business consulting experience. He has a roll-up-your-sleeves and get the job done mentality. Prior to Aurelius Equity Advisors, he was a business consultant at Pinnacle Equity Solutions and a mergers & acquisition professional at Beacon Hill Equity Group. He also formerly served as Executive Vice President at Sage Canyon Advisors, a boutique middle market investment bank responsible for mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, and sourcing deals.
Mr. Barnes spent the first part of his career in environmental consulting and engineering earning the Professional Geologist, Licensed Site Professional (MA) and Licensed Environmental Professional (CT) credentials. His last position was leading the remediation and construction division of a multi-national private firm with accountability for profit and loss, business development, account management, staff development and QA/QC of technical reports and conclusions / opinions.
Mr. Barnes serves / has served as a volunteer for the Town of Hopkinton, MA for over 25 years with many organizations and committee’s including the Conservation Commission, Upper Charles Trail Committee, Hopkinton Art on the Trail, Zoning Advisory Committee, Hopkinton Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts, and as a youth sports coach for hockey, baseball & soccer. He is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Mr. Barnes is a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA), Certified Value Builder Advisor (CVBA) and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 79 and 82 licenses. He earned a B.S. in Geology from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Boston College, Carroll School of Management.
